The Queensland Indigenous Substance Misuse Council (QISMC) is an association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Alcohol and Other Drugs residential rehabilitation organisations located in communities across Queensland.
Services are provided in remote, rural and urban settings.
There are currently 5 QISMC member services, located in: Normanton, Yarrabah, Palm Island, Rockhampton and Brisbane (New Farm).
QISMC services provide a range of culturally safe treatment programs (predominantly residential rehabilitation) to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women with addiction substance use and other addictions. Other services include:
- Post-treatment care, support and community re-integration.
Organisations also provide alcohol and other drug information, education and awareness services to their communities.
